Winnie the Pooh Crib Bedding – Silly Old Bear

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

Winnie the Pooh crib bedding has been a best seller for years. There is something about the adorable characters from Milne’s Hundred Acre Wood that stand the test of time. Pooh and Piglet are favorites, of course, but Tigger, Eeyore and Rabbit are close runners up.
You can accent a Pooh Bear theme with a variety of accessories. Cutouts of Owl, Kanga and Roo and even Christopher Robin himself can decorate the walls, and you can even place a few pots of ‘HUNNY’ strategically around the room. Knock yourself out – they are only babies once!

Winnie the Pooh has always been a favorite of children everywhere, and a few stuffed animals to sit on the Winnie the Pooh bedding would not be amiss. Take them out before putting your baby to bed, though! A copy of the BOOK itself on the nightstand, and you are ready put your little one to bed.

Read him a chapter or two of the always fun story, and don’t forget to sing the ’Colder it BLOWS’ song. Tuck him in between Piglet emblazoned sheets, turn on the Tigger nightlight, and set his stuffed Pooh bear where he can see it. Sweet dreams are a given, despite what Eeyore might say!

Winnie the Pooh crib bedding is the perfect way to introduce your baby to this beloved children’s character! The colors are lovely – pale blues, soft greens and earth tones, and a peaceful neutral color can be done on the walls and flooring, leaving plenty of room to accent with prints and other Pooh related items.

How does hypoallergenic bedding benefit your baby?

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

As you prepare to have a new baby you likely have a lot of questions about the world you are bringing the baby into. While the world as a whole you can’t control, you can control the home environment.

One of the things this means is that you can make the wise decision to choose hypoallergenic bedding for your baby.

Many people don’t think about these little details when choosing baby bedding, but selecting hypo allergenic bedding items can be a major benefit to your little one.

Premature Babies

If you happen to have a baby that is premature, that means they were not fully done developing. So, when you bring them home they are going to have more sensitive issues that go with this, including sensitive skin. Hypoallergenic bedding is the vest choice for these babies as they are not loaded with chemicals and allergens that can irritate your baby, but rather all natural items.

Allergies

Just as you would imagine, hypo allergenic bedding can help keep your baby from having allergic reactions. This is important as there is no way to know when a baby is born whether he or she will have allergies. And many babies that have none when they are first born start to develop allergies over time. How would you feel if down the road you realized your baby was sick or having breathing problems all because of something in the bedding you chose to put them on? It is better to avoid this possibility by choosing hypoallergenic bedding that will not cause these reactions.

Go Natural

Hypoallergenic bedding can also be a more natural choice. When searching for hypoallergenic bedding for your baby look for pieces that are made of cotton, wool or silk that have been created to remove any allergy-causing irritants.

Frog Baby Bedding – Make the Nursery a Hoppy Place

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

Decorating your baby’s nursery with frog baby bedding can be a fun project with lots of possibilities. Some of the patterns come with a pink background for little girls; others sport a blue background for little boys. Of course, green and yellow are popular colors both for frogs and for those who don’t want to be too traditional.

Various collections include rainforest animals, jungle animals, and bugs in addition to frogs. With all of these sets, you can get a crib bumper, a comforter or quilt, a crib ruffle, and a fitted sheet. Some of them also include a diaper stacker, a valance, and soft quilted wall hangings.

Start your nursery makeover by choosing a frog baby bedding collection, then paint with one or several coordinating colors. There are a multitude of accessories you can add. With each item your dream nursery will be one-step closer, and before you know it your baby will be cooing with all the little frogs!

Add a hooded froggie towel, some coordinated socks, and a soft blanket for the fun of seeing your baby in them fresh out of the bath. You can even get a soft plush frog rocking toy that your little one will love when he or she is a bit older. You will definitely need a wall – so pick one with froggy friends hopping their way around the room!

There seems to be no limit to the number and variety of baby care items and toys you can add to your nursery that carry out the theme. As your baby gets older, you will be able to find age appropriate items that will still be cute and fun. Frog baby bedding is a fun way to decorate your baby’s first room, and it’s an idea that can grow with your little one.

Fleece Bedding for Babies

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

Flannel and flannelette sheets are wonderful for babies as they are so soft.  They can also help babies to have a good nights’ sleep as it keeps their backs warm.  This is especially relevant with the advice that babies should always sleep on their backs and with the minimum of covering – to help prevent SIDS.

Flannel is hardwearing and washes well which is essential with a new baby!  It’s also warm in winter and cool in summer.

People who live in colder climates have known about the great warming qualities of flannel for a long time!  That’s why lumberjacks are known for their flannel shirts!

Choosing flannel crib sheets

The best ones to go for are fitted as this ensures that the baby sleeps on smooth fabric and isn’t going to get tangled up in it during the night.  This is another recommendation to help prevent SIDS.

For even more softness and purity next to your baby’s skin – you could consider organic flannel baby bedding which has not been bleached or anywhere near chemicals.  These are generally more expensive than regular flannel or flannelette but if your baby has eczema, asthma or allergies, they would be worth the extra cost.

Buying crib sheets in flannel is easy with the internet.  They come in crib, cradle, portable bed and bassinet sizes.  And there are so many different colors and designs available that the only problem is which ones to choose!

What to Consider When Buying Baby Bedding

July 22, 2011 By Paula

Do you have a new addition coming to your family? If there is a baby in the future you likely have a lot of questions you are asking yourself right about now. Among them may be what to consider when choosing baby bedding. There are a lot of bedding options out there, so here’s a quick look at some of the things you may want to think of when you are choosing:

Color – Do you know if you are having a boy or girl? While there are traditional colors for babies of one gender of the other, you can also choose a neutral color if you don’t know what you are having. Make sure the color you choose for the bedding is something that will be complimentary to the rest of the décor in the baby’s room.

Style – There are a number of styles of bedding to choose from. This is all going to come down to personal taste, but you may want to opt for a bedding set where you get all of the items you need, that match, in one set. Often these are more economical for the number of pieces you will get.

Safety – Read up on what you are buying for your baby. You don’t want bedding that has been treated and had a lot of chemicals added to it. After all, this is going to be what is right next to your baby’s skin and likely in his or her mouth.

Eco friendly – If you worry about the environment, you may want to keep your eyes open for baby bedding that is eco friendly. That means it was made naturally, and without a lot of chemicals, and that it is also made of a sustainable resource.

Easy to clean – The final consideration is that you want this bedding to be easy to clean as with new babies there are always spills and messes that cause all of the bedding to be pulled off of the bed and tossed into the wash.
