Avoid Neck and Back Pan with Memory Foam Pillows

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

The sky is blue, the sun is shining, it’s the start of a brand new day, full of opportunity – and you can’t enjoy a moment of it, because you woke up with such a bad crick in your neck that you can barely move.  Does this sound like a familiar story?  If morning neck and back pain is a common occurrence, then it’s time for you to invest in Memory Foam pillows.

As we rest, we oftentimes end up in positions that place too much pressure on a specific area of the body, causing sore joints and muscle aches.  The head and neck region is particularly prone to stiffness and soreness.  Selecting the right pillow can alleviate this pain, leading to deeper, more comfortable sleep and a feeling of invigoration upon waking.

Memory Foam is one of the best materials for this purpose.

Originally designed for astronauts enduring high-G take-offs and landings on their missions into space, Memory Foam is uniquely designed to provide contoured support and avoid pressure points.  As you rest, your pillow will shape itself to your weight and specific body position, cradling you gently for a great night’s sleep.

Memory Foam also provides more circulation than other pillow fillings, even high-quality stuffing such as down.  This means that the pillow stays fresher longer, and that heat is more evenly distributed overnight.  If you often wake feeling overly warm or stuffy, Memory Foam is an excellent choice for you.

Memory Foam offers a variety of thicknesses which determine the quality and price of the pillows.  While mattresses come in recommended weights of more than five pounds per cubic foot, a density of around four feet usually results in a pillow that is firm without being hard.
For a pillow that provides comfortable support and a sound night’s sleep, Memory Foam is hard to beat.  You won’t believe how much difference a pillow can make until you try it.

Hypoallergenic Pillows for a Sound Nights Sleep

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

Do you ever go to bed feeling fine, but wake up with a cough and sniffles?  If this is a feeling that you experience frequently, you might have an allergy to pollen, household dust, or the invisible mites that live in it.  After spending eight hours or more with your face pressed against an allergen-filled pillow, it’s no surprise that you don’t wake up feeling refreshed.  Whether you are a known allergy sufferer or simply want to enjoy fresher, cleaner bedding, hypoallergenic pillows can help.

Cotton and goose down are two of the most problematic pillow fillings for allergy sufferers because dust, mites, and other allergens can easily be trapped in the filling material.  If you love the luxurious feeling of a down pillow, you don’t need to despair, however.  Hungarian goose down and synthetic down are alternatives that are resistant to allergen buildup.

Hypoallergenic cotton pillows are also available.  These pillows are made from unbleached and un-dyed cotton pre-washed in baking soda.  This special treatment is enough to prevent allergic reactions in most sufferers.  Before buying a cotton pillow, be sure that it has a hypoallergenic label.

Some other pillow fillings that are easy on allergies include Memory Foam, wool, and specially blended synthetic materials.

Another way to help prevent an allergic reaction while you sleep is to use a hypoallergenic pillow case.  These cases are specially designed to prevent mites from entering your pillow.  The cases are easy to wash, which keeps the air around you fresher and cleaner as you sleep.

Considering how much time we spend in bed, it’s surprising how many people use pillows that are actively bad for them.  You might be surprised by how much better your sleep becomes, after making a simple change to hypoallergenic bedding.

Body Pillows – Great for Cuddling

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

The comfort of resting your back against a body pillow when you go to bed at night is nearly indescribable. At almost five feet in length, they are designed to support your entire body, your arms, or your legs. You can lie entirely on top of one, or merely drape an arm or leg over it to achieve the utmost in positioning.

People suffering with the pain of arthritic joints sometimes have a difficult time finding a comfortable position. With arthritis attacking any joint in the body, and usually multiple joints, there are times when even the slightest movement causes extreme pain.

Trying to keep two or more regular sized pillows positioned for comfort is nearly impossible under the best of circumstances. The added difficulty of trying to do so when movement causes new experiences in pain makes it almost unthinkable. The need to keep only one body pillow correctly positioned eases some of that hassle.

During that time of pregnancy when it is so hard to find a comfortable position in which to sleep, they are also invaluable. In fact there are even some body pillows made especially for use during pregnancy.

Maybe you just want to feel warm and surrounded by softness. Look no farther than the body pillow. You can position one along your back, at your side or even use two and have a nice cozy nest between them. The possibilities are many.

Cover them with your favorite colors, position them on your bed, or hug them while watching sad movies; body pillows are versatile, soft, and comfy. Every bed needs at least one!
