Star Wars Bedding – May the Force Be with You

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

Star Wars bedding pays tribute to one of the all time great movie trilogies. What child (or adult, for that matter) Star Wars fan wouldn’t like having their bedroom made over around a Star Wars theme?

There are a variety of quilt, comforters, throws and pillows that feature characters and scenes from the movies. Consider using a comforter with a dark blue background, it presents the illusion of traveling through space. Add coordinating sheets and accessories and you have created a bedroom theme that will be loved by any Star Wars fan.

There are multitudes of choices including Darth Vader wall decorations. You can collect sheet sets, pillow shams, and of course quilts and comforters. Why limit yourself to only one with so many choices available?

Consider painting the ceiling of the bedroom dark blue or black and adding glow in the dark stars. Make the walls clear sky blue in color to give the impression of drifting off into nothingness. This way you can transport your little (and big) kids right into space.

Star Wars bedding was extremely popular when it was first released and there is just as much of  a demand for it today. You can now include replicas of the original sheets in your current collection. Surprise your big Star Wars fan with sheets similar to the ones from your own childhood and let him use them today.

Your choices when looking for Star Wars bedding are many. Every fan has a favorite character or scene. Which will thrill your child? Will it be scenes of light saber duels?

Remake your child’s bedroom following a theme inspired by Star Wars then watch the delighted looks and listen to the happy laughter as they play in outer space.

Sesame Street Bedding – Oscar Where Are You?

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

Nearly all children like Big Bird, Elmo, and the Cookie Monster. Sesame Street bedding is the ideal treat for your little Sesame Street fans. Waking up in the morning to find this group of favorite characters sharing their bed can make a day start out great for any child!

To go along with the bedding, there are numerous Sesame Street accessories to help make decorating your child’s room fun and easy. You can put up a wall border of the Sesame Street neighborhood, a poster of Elmo, or place a group of room appliqués on the wall. A Snuffleupagus light switch is also something you may want to consider installing.

Use a garbage can similar to Oscar’s in place of a clothes hamper. Your child lifts the lid to look for Oscar, then drops in her or his clothes real quick before Oscar comes grumbling out! What fun an Oscar the Grouch clothes hamper would be for even the youngest kids as they learn to put their dirty clothes somewhere besides on the floor.

Any child would like a Sesame Street blanket to snuggle with during naptime. Not only can you get sheet sets and spreads, there are plush blankets, comforters, pillow shams, and throws. All of them have the characters your child loves.

Sesame Street isn’t only fun for your kids; it’s one of the few shows to make entertainment educational. Decorating with colored numbers and letters on the wall is a way of continuing the educational aspect. A desk for writing practice would be a nice addition, too.

A room decorated around Sesame Street bedding will be a wonderful addition to any child’s life. They will find going to bed at night much more fun with their Sesame Street friends there waiting.

Pink Bedding – Pretty in Pink

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

You can also go bubblegum pink and dig the 50’s with style! A chrome headboard and hot pink bedding just screams retro.

Nautical Bedding – Anchors Aweigh!

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

Nautical bedding is a great way to decorate any bedroom for any age. While it is a theme that used to be commonly advertised to boys, it need not be gender specific anymore.

Nautical does not just mean obvious colors like red, blue, and white; although most boys would delight having a bedroom with this type of bedding. Neither does it have to have a traditional look to it; only your imagination limits how whimsical and eclectic you can go with this theme!

For a feminine room, think of colors of the sea and the ocean. For example sand, aqua, teal, turquoise and pale yellows are sure to be a delight for girls. Colors of sea life, such as shades of coral, are sure to please females of all ages. Seashell prints are very popular as well. For younger girls you can’t go wrong with mermaids.

Not only can you create your bed in a nautical theme with striped linens, but nautical bedding comes in many wonderful patterns as well. Lighthouses are not only a popular collective accessory, but have now made themselves at home as print on bedding. Adult rooms can get a trim update with a lighthouse theme and a cool blue paint job! Boat prints are well liked with boys, as are rudder prints. Sailing flags also make for sea-worthy bedding.

For a more traditional and neutral look, different shades of simple blue striped bedding on crisp white sheets can finish off a great nautical theme as well. The same look can be achieved with red and white stripes. Add a wallpaper border of ships a-sailing, and your room will be ready for adventure!

July 22, 2011 By Paula Leave a Comment

The great thing about Disney bedding is that there are so many choices for both boys and girls alike. Since Disney characters have been around for a very long time, this type of bedding never goes out of style. The characters are so brilliant that this bedding will work with any type of furnishings and wall colors.

There are characters that will work for both boys and girls, such as Mickey Mouse. However, there are many adults who collect Mickey Mouse, and many retailers even manufacture Mickey Mouse bedding for adults!

For babies, Winnie the Pooh is a very popular choice. Pooh’s colors make for some very desirable pastel bedding. However, some of the other characters from that show, mainly Tigger, make it into bedrooms of all ages. Tigger bedding is an excellent accompaniment for eclectic orange décor.

For little girls the Little Mermaid seems to be the most popular Disney bedding, available the most adorable pink and purple shades. If you are looking to compliment a fairy theme, you can’t go wrong with Tinkerbell. For princess lovers, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty or Snow White bedding will be sure to light up your little girl’s dreams.
